IMAGINE THE FUTURE OF WORK

Two Years of AI at Work: What the data says and what the headlines leave out.

Wed, July 29

3 PM PST | 6 PM EST

Live on Zoom

Two years in, companies have poured billions into AI, and most still can't point to a return. That's the headline. Read past it and a different story shows up: the returns are real, they're just landing in specific places, and some of the fastest wins are going to small teams, not the giants.

The first solid data is here, from HBS, BCG, MIT, McKinsey, and Deloitte and it points to one underlying pattern: AI's capability edge is jagged. It's remarkably good at some tasks and quietly wrong on others that look nearly identical, and a lot of the last two years of underwhelming returns trace back to missing that line. There's a lot in it for a team paying attention: we'll translate what the data says in plain terms, show what good AI adoption looks like inside real companies across industries, and share what teaching more than 500 professionals has taught us about the difference between AI that makes more slop and AI that makes better work faster.

Then we open the floor, because the best part of a room full of leaders is the leaders. You'll hear what's working for others in your shoes, share what's working for you, and ask the questions that don't have clean answers.

The One Hour Agenda

The whole hour is a conversation, not a lecture. Here's how it goes, and what you take home.

  • The research, translated
What two years of data show, in plain terms, where the returns are showing up, and why smaller teams are often quicker to get there.

  • Inside real teams
Wins from companies across industries, and how their leaders rethought people and resources as AI came in. Leave knowing why the biggest wins come from making your people better, not replacing them.

  • Lessons from the lab
What teaching 500+ professionals shows about good AI adoption day to day, with real examples of the work. Leave knowing the line between AI that makes slop and AI that makes better work faster, and what to watch beyond speed.

  • Open floor
Our first check-in as a group. Hear what's working for leaders in your shoes, share what's working for you, and help shape where the forum goes next.

The hosts and speakers for July 29

Nathaniel Reagan

Founder & Lead AI Trainer

For twenty years, Nathaniel has helped organizations turn big ideas into real results, and has won multiple awards for that work across industries. PR News named him one of its 15 to Watch for leading Fortune 100 companies through the adoption of digital and social media at scale. The US Embassy in Mozambique awarded him four times for his development work with the CDC, building national programs, strengthening local organizations, and mobilizing coalitions of government, donors, and grassroots partners. Most recently, he has worked inside startups, hands-on with every department it takes to build a company, supporting them from early stage through IPO.

Three years ago, as AI came onto the scene, he was working alongside some of the top machine learning minds of our time and for one of Silicon Valley's leading venture firms, gaining an inside understanding of how the technology works. He saw its democratizing power: work that once required entire teams and six-figure budgets could now be done by a few skilled people. He also saw what most miss, that learning the tools is not enough. AI demands a different way of thinking and working, for individuals and for teams, with human genius, discernment, and ethics leading every step. That became his work. Through more than 500 professionals across 18 industries, he has developed the Framework for Conscious AI Use™, helping organizations cut through the hype and build environments where missions are amplified and people, communities, and the planet flourish.

María Pahigiannis

Director, Partnerships & Change Management

For twenty years, Maria has helped complex organizations translate strategy into execution in environments where the stakes of getting it wrong are real. At UNICEF Mozambique, she directed financial assurance across nearly $120 million in donor funding spanning 200+ implementing partners, building the dashboards that gave senior leadership real-time visibility into risk. At the U.S. Coast Guard, she developed an AI Strategic Outlook and Concept of Operations for AI/ML integration, guiding senior leadership on emerging technology adoption. Nearly twelve years at Deloitte's Government and Public Services practice sharpened that same discipline across finance, technology, risk, and cybersecurity, including a redesign of the Defense Department's reconciliation process that cut processing time by 95 percent.

As consulting and international development, the two fields that shaped her career, absorbed hard cuts over the past two years, particularly in development, where fewer people are now carrying the same missions forward, Maria turned that discipline toward the question underneath it: how organizations use AI to strengthen their people rather than displace them. She saw what most leaders don't have time to see for themselves, that AI's capability edge is jagged, remarkably capable on some tasks and unreliable on others that look nearly identical, and that most underwhelming ROI traces back to missing that line. That became her work. Now leading AI adoption and change management for AI Learning Labs' B2B clients, she builds the roadmaps, governance, and KPI frameworks that determine whether an AI pilot becomes a practice or fades, and co-leads Imagine the Future of Work, a monthly forum for leaders doing the same.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this going to turn into a sales pitch?

No, this is a true forum. We spend three minutes on who we are so you know the team behind it, then we get to work. Our work and our way of thinking speak for themselves, so we don't need to pitch you. We run this because talking with leaders inside real, mission-driven teams is how we stay sharp and understand what you're up against, all while giving you something worth your hour.

How is this different from all the other AI webinars?

The real experts usually aren't the ones with big followings. They're too busy doing the work. We built this to make the people we know and work with more accessible to mission-driven organizations. It isn't a one-way broadcast. It's a place for managers and leaders to discuss big ideas and upgrade our thinking together as we reimagine what's possible.

What do I get by joining the series?

Each month, a heads-up on what that session covers. Join live if you can. Either way, we send a short recap of what was discussed and a link to the recording.

Who's it for?

Managers and leaders of small and mid-sized, mission-driven organizations. Anyone responsible for helping a team get real value from AI. You don't need to be technical, and you don't need to have it figured out. That's the point.

I'm not technical. Will I be able to follow?

Yes. Making AI clear and practical is the whole job at AI Learning Labs. When we bring in guest experts, we have them translate what they know into something you can use on your own team.

My org is small, or a nonprofit with barely any budget. Is this for me?

Especially you. You don't need a big budget, you need to know which tools matter and how to think about putting them to work. We started this to give mission-driven organizations a starting point to catch up and forge ahead, and we think smaller teams can move faster than large ones struggling to adopt AI at scale.

Can I bring my team and invite others?

Yes, please. The more leaders in the room, the more all of us learn.

Can I drop into any session, or does each build on the last?

Drop into any session. Come for the topics that matter to you. Each one stands on its own, and they add up if you stay with us. If you can't make it live, we send a recap and the recording.

If you enjoy this class, you’ll already have a head start on the 4-week Bootcamp that takes these methods even further.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about the 4-week Bootcamp.

Do I need any technical background?

Can you write an email? You're ready.

How do I handle the pace of change?

Master fundamentals, not features. Learn navigation, not control. Build confidence through practice.

Will this work for my unique situation?

Yes. 18+ industries thriving. Fundamentals adapt to any context.

What if I'm overwhelmed by AI outputs?

Learn to steer and focus. Stay intentional. Pull back when needed. You lead, AI follows.

How do I maintain different voices?

Context-switching mastery for every role. Authentic outputs across all projects.

I already use ChatGPT daily. Is this too basic for me?

Most daily users discover they're only using 10% of ChatGPT's potential. If you're a moderate user, this transforms you into a super-advanced user. You'll unlock capabilities you didn't know existed.

What if I can't make the live sessions?

Check our schedule—we offer different times for different timezones. Everything's recorded within 24 hours. But live is where magic happens: your questions shape the teaching, your projects become examples.

Do I need paid AI subscriptions?

We recommend at least one paid subscription during the course—ChatGPT Plus, Claude Pro, or Gemini Advanced. You can cancel after, but we've never had a student go back to free versions after unlocking full capabilities.

How is this different from free YouTube tutorials?

Free content is great—use it! But our course isn't watching recordings. It's doing. Experiential learning with your real projects. Live sessions answering YOUR questions. Accountability that ensures completion. Community that motivates transformation.

What project should I bring through the course?

A good project needs three things: clear audience, clear goal, and specific outputs to achieve that goal. Think about WHO you're trying to reach, WHAT you want them to do, and WHAT you'll create to make that happen.

Come to our free webinar to explore what project would work best for you. Pick something you're excited about—you'll be working on it for 6 weeks. Simple projects take 30-60 minutes weekly. Complex ones can take more. Either works.

Will this work for my industry/role?

We've had students from 18+ industries, 100+ roles—all found it applicable. Not for coders learning to build agents. But if you're a coder needing project plans, team management, or leadership communication, this transforms that work

What if English is my second language?

We've had students from all over the world. Our curriculum is highly visual. If you're proficient enough to understand the lessons, you're ready. Do all your work in your native language—AI tools excel at multiple languages.

What happens after 4 weeks?

12-month Circle community access included. Continue asking questions, sharing projects, getting expert responses. Access curriculum updates as AI evolves. Optional monthly subscription after first year.

I'm worried AI will replace me.

By becoming AI-enabled, you become the person no organization wants to lose. We don't support layoffs—we support humans getting more done. Make yourself invaluable now. Companies increasingly seek deep AI expertise.

I want to use AI but worry about the environment.

We worry too. That's why our Framework for Conscious AI Use includes ethics discussions. We hold space for environmental impact conversations. But individual users aren't the problem—corporate extraction is. We teach about this and push for regulatory change and collective action. We're working toward a future where humanity, technology, and earth work in synchronicity. That only happens if big-hearted humans use these tools to expand impact and advocate for sound AI policy.

What's the actual time commitment?

90 minutes weekly for live class. 60 minutes for optional study hall (highly recommended). 30-60 minutes for homework/project work. Choose simpler project for less time, complex for more. You'll recoup this time by week 2 through efficiency gains.

Can my team take this together?

Yes! Teams love learning together. Each person enrolls individually, we create subgroups within cohort. Or we design custom training for your organization. Email [email protected] for group rates or custom programs.

What does AI Learning Labs certification mean?

You receive a digital certificate stating you're certified as an Advanced AI Prompter by AI Learning Labs. Share on LinkedIn, resumes, professional profiles. We maintain verification list for future employers.

What's required for certification?

Attend 5 of 6 classes live. Complete feedback forms after each class. Finish all weekly homework. Pass post-assessment test. Submit video recordings demonstrating advanced prompting skills. When you enroll we will onboard you to the requirements and track your progress each week to ensure you stay on track!

Do I need technical skills?
